Rey Mysterio, a WWE Hall of Famer with a storied career spanning decades, recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of his daughter, Aalyah, entering the world of professional wrestling.
In 2019, a significant storyline involving Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio’s, and Brock Lesnar unfolded in the lead-up to WWE Survivor Series 2019. Although their quest to dethrone “The Beast” and capture the WWE Championship ended in disappointment, it marked a pivotal moment in their family’s wrestling journey.
The following year, Aalyah made her on-screen debut within the WWE. During an appearance on The MMA Hour, Rey Mysterio discussed his daughter’s potential wrestling career and expressed his concerns:

“It’s scary if she does ’cause she might like it. She’s never stepped foot in the ring… For some reason or another, it hasn’t happened and I think that’s just a sign from God saying don’t get her in there because she’s gonna like it.” (From 2:05:50 to 2:06:10)
Rey Mysteri’s also revealed that he hasn’t yet trained his daughter in the art of professional wrestling. At present, Aalyah appears to be following in her mother’s footsteps, while Dominik is forging a path akin to his father’s.
Aalyah had a notable role in a Rey Mysterio storyline on WWE SmackDown in 2020. That year, she became a recurring character alongside Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio. During the Pandemic Era, Rey Mysterio engaged in a heated feud with Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy on Monday Night RAW. The feud notably featured a dramatic (kayfabe) eye injury suffered by Rey Mysterio during Extreme Rules 2020.
Subsequently, Dominik Mysterio made his in-ring debut for WWE, facing Seth Rollins in a Street Fight at a major event, which he lost. During the annual WWE Draft, The Mysterio family and Seth Rollins & Murphy were drafted to Friday Night SmackDown.
The feud between these four superstars transitioned from RAW to SmackDown, with Rollins attempting to involve the entire Mysterio family. During this time, Aalyah’s character became romantically entangled with Murphy, a storyline that played out on Friday Night SmackDown for several weeks. Ultimately, The Mysterios emerged victorious, and Murphy joined their ranks after defeating Seth Rollins. Aalyah’s appearances became sporadic as she appeared alongside her mother, Angie, during Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio’s ongoing WWE storyline.
